We have an exciting opportunity for a career nanny to work in a nanny share job with two close families who live a ten minute walk from each other. Childcare will be provided at both addresses on a monthly switch basis or whatever is easiest for everyone.

The children are 7, 3.5, 3 and nearly one year old and the start date is the beginning of August 2024.

They are looking for 40 hours across 4 days (Tuesday to Friday) initially then 50 hours over 5 days from January 2025. There will also be the opportunity for additional babysitting in the evenings and weekends if the nanny wishes.

The hours will ideally be 7.30am to 5.30pm

The salary is £27,000 to £29,000 gross per annual for 4 days. £34,000 – £36,000 for 5 days (pro rata increase of 20%). The salary is dependent on experience.

In addition, the successful candidate will receive:

  • a discretionary Christmas bonus
  • one full week of sick pay per year
  • 28 days annual leave per year from the start date
  • the opportunity for international travel with the families (optional).

The Nanny will be required to do some school/nursery drop offs, pick-ups and meal preparation for all children.  Because the children go to different schools/nurseries, parents will help with drop offs in the morning where required.

The Nanny will be required to provide care for all children during their working hours, including (but not limited to) preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, their laundry, washing/changing bedding, cleaning up after them at the end of the day, cleaning bottles, writing shopping lists for the parents if they notice children’s supplies running low (e.g. snacks, nappies, wipes etc…), bathing the baby, assisting the older children with their personal hygiene and other such tasks. The Nanny will also help with homework and engage in learning activities with two of the children in preparation for their entry to school.  They will also be required to engage and play in age-appropriate games with all children. 

The families do not expect the Nanny to perform any duties not relating to the children around the household.

The successful candidate will be someone with a positive attitude, compassion and the ability to create lasting bonds with the children. They must have excellent communication skills, both for the children and to be open and honest with both families. The parents are passionate about creating a comfortable and enjoyable working environment for everyone. They would love their Nanny to be active, have lots of energy, be punctual, courteous and tidy.  Some basic culinary skills are necessary to make nutritious and tasty meals that the children will enjoy.  Reliability, trustworthiness and using their initiative also desirable. Non smoker essential.

A driver with own car is required. There is free parking at both homes.

One household has two cats.

The parents will occasionally work from home around two days each week.
