Job Reference: LCSJUNE02
We are recruiting an experienced, full time permanent nanny on behalf of a welcoming and professional couple who live in Edinburgh EH12 5.
They have two children ages 2 and approaching 5 months.
Role: Live in or live out.
Start date: September 2025
Days of work: Mondays to Fridays with alternate Mondays to Thursdays (i.e. 9 working days in 10),
Times: 7.30am to 6.30pm
Salary: negotiable depending on living arrangements and experience. The focus is on finding the right long-term nanny for their household.
There may be flexibility on the above hours on the working Friday but this is to be confirmed and agreed once Mum more formally plans her return to work in January 2026.
There may also be some flexibility on the days/hours prior to Mum’s return to work in January 2026.
From September 2025 – January 2026 the nanny’s primary focus will be caring for their eldest daughter on a day-to-day basis. However, they would also value support with their baby, allowing Mum to enjoy dedicated one-on-one time with her eldest. Some care of both children will be needed in late 2025, particularly during Mum’s ‘settling-in’ days back at work.
From January 2026 onwards, care for both children will be required as Mum transitions fully back to work.
Their oldest daughter is a bright, energetic, and loving little girl, just over 2 years old. She’s full of curiosity and joy, with a real zest for life. Her parents plan for her to begin nursery around the age of 2.5 to 3 years, conveniently located just a hundred metres from their home. In the near term, the focus is continuing to support her speech development with potty training to follow soon. Her parents are passionate about nurturing her imagination, curiosity, and ever-growing sense of fun. She absolutely loves the outdoors—whether it’s exploring the garden, going on little adventures, or simply splashing in puddles. Indoors, she enjoys books, arts and crafts, music, cooking, dancing, and playing with her beloved dolls and baby sister. She thrives in a loving, playful environment where she can feel confident, secure, and free to express herself.
Their younger daughter is approaching 5 months and thriving with her current routine. However, supporting the family in the evolution of this routine, self-settling and weaning will be greatly appreciated in 2025.
They are a kind, respectful, and hardworking family who value honesty, empathy, good manners and a home that is built on mutual respect. Their two girls are the heart of their world, and while the parents are both career-driven, their family is always their top priority. In their spare time, they love making memories together, whether that’s exploring the outdoors, watching movies, or travelling to new places.
With both parents leading demanding professional lives, they are looking for a highly reliable, experienced, and dedicated nanny to become a trusted part of their family.
