Job Reference: LCSAUG03
This lovely family are looking for a reliable and friendly personal assistant to support their 15-year-old son.
10 hours per week – 5pm to 7pm – Monday to Friday.
Their son has complex needs including a profound learning disability and global developmental delay. He enjoys the outdoors, visiting wooded areas to watch the trees. He also loves watching flashing lights and listening to music.
He requires a hoist at home for transfers and uses body gestures or facial expressions and vocalisations to communicate. He also makes choices by eye pointing.
The PA’s support will consist of manual handling and transfers for personal caring such as showering, pad change and dressing. Medication, oral and gastronomy feeding will be included after further training.
The ideal candidates will have completed basic moving and handling training, including the use of a hoist. However, if you are interested in the job and willing to undertake training, this may be considered.
As their son’s needs are very complex, there is a strong potential for hours to increase to offer further support and be able to take him outdoors in better weather.
It is a non-smoking household.
Hourly rate is £15 per hour.
