We are recruiting a permanent part-time nanny for a friendly and easy going family who live in Westfield near Bathgate. They have two children ages 11 and nearly nine years.
Days and Hours (term time and school holidays)
Mondays: 7am to 9am and 3.30pm to 7pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 3.30pm to 7pm
During school holidays the same hours are required and the children will attend holiday clubs.
Start date – 13th August 2025 with some settling in days beforehand.
The hourly rate is £17 per hour gross.
There will be additional hours available, including evenings when one or both parents are on call or for occasional babysitting. These hours will always be offered to their nanny first, but there is no obligation to cover them. Any additional hours will be paid at the same hourly rate.
Their boys are fun, engaged and very active. They love football and cycling and are becoming increasingly independent, and good company. They also enjoy cooking (especially baking), listening to audiobooks and currently making things out of cardboard. Their oldest loves maths and engineering type challenges, while their youngest loves drawing and painting (mostly pictures of mountain bikes). They are both doing well at their local school. There are some evenings where the boys have clubs (e.g. football or Cubs), so will need picked up or dropped off by their nanny. All expenses will be covered.
They describe themselves as a very friendly, happy family but with a lot of moving parts. Mum and dad travel quite a bit with work. They are looking for someone kind, reliable, easy going, flexible and with a sense of fun. Their previous nannies have always felt like part of their family. They don’t need any special skills, just a nanny who is kind, caring and organised. A non-smoker and non vaper.
A driver with their own car is required and there is free parking at the family home. Mileage will be reimbursed at 45p per mile.
They have a very friendly and deeply lazy Basset hound. She does shed hair (unfortunately), so this post may not be suitable for those who are allergic to dog hair.
Parents will sometimes work from home.
