We are recruiting an experienced nanny for busy and professional parents who have two children, ages 1 and 4 years of age.
Start Date: ASAP
Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Times: 8am to 5.30pm
Hourly rate: £15 per hour gross
Contract Term: A minimum of 8 months, but it could be longer.
Their oldest child is an active, determined and inquisitive 4 year-old. He attends Edinburgh Academy Nursery where he enjoys taking part in gym, music, and walks in the wild woods. The nanny would be required to collect him at 3pm and safely bring him home (likely walking or cycling alongside the pram). Once home, he benefits from some quiet activities and gentle encouragement to tidy up his toys, before supper at 5pm.
His sister has just turned one, and is a very happy and easy going second child. She adores her brother. The best part of her day is seeing him. She currently enjoys playgroup and music class, but would benefit from more socialisation and also focus on her development through play.
They are a close-knit family, with grandparents nearby and aunts/uncles who visit often. Work is busy for both parents with frequent travel to London and abroad, but when it is quieter, they love to be more flexible and spend quality time with the children.
They would like their nanny to have the following values, skills and awareness:
An excellent awareness of physical and psychological safety.
The ability to communicate clearly, foster trust and inspire kindness and connection between siblings.
Cooking and food preparation skills.
Motivation to think out of the box and come up with fun activities for quiet afternoons at home or on rainy days.
The ability to anticipate and act; not expecting to be guided on a day-to-day basis.
Willingness to do childcare related tasks around the house e.g. fold a basket of clean laundry, tidy toys away etc.
Experience with children of these ages/understanding of the age gap dynamic.
A non smoker and non vaper.
A driver is not required and there is no free parking at the family home.
The parents will be working from home on occasions.
