We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager for a small family run nursery in Dunbar, East Lothian.
The role will include the daily operations and management of the nursery across four weekdays. There is flexibility in what days.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in early childhood education and childcare and ideally have at least 2 years managerial experience of leading a small team.
Starting Salary £18 per hour gross.
Duties
- Lead and support a team of childcare professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children’s development and learning.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn.
- Oversee staff training and development to enhance skills in early childhood education.
- Manage resources efficiently, including budgeting for supplies and equipment needed for the nursery.
- Drive initiatives to improve nursery practices and enhance the overall quality of care provided.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Leadership skills to ensure a nurturing environment for children.
- The ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Effective communication in English, both verbally and written.
- The ability to engage effectively and positively with young children, their parents and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare and promoting their development.
A valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.
