We are recruiting a permanent Nanny to work with a family in Dunbar, East Lothian on Tuesdays only, all year round.
They have two boys who are currently 2.5 years and 15 months.
Hourly rate: £17 per hour gross
Start Date: ASAP
Days and Hours: Tuesdays 8am to 5pm
The boys do not currently attend any other childcare provision so this position will be to look after them both at home but with lots of fun outings too.
Their oldest son is a highly intelligent, sweet natured, quietly cautious little boy. He takes a little while to come out of his shell but once he does he is full of fun and loves to talk. He is absolutely obsessed with cars and likes to build car parks, drive his cars on the track and talk about cars all day.
Their youngest son is a very energetic, cheeky, full of fun little boy who is never still and is incredibly sociable. He’s not yet walking but he moves incredibly quickly all the same. He loves his big brother more than anyone in the world and wants to do exactly what he is doing.
Both boys love music, dancing and reading. It’s important to the parents that the boys get fresh air and time outside each day, whether that’s the park, a walk or playing in the garden – or going on the odd day trips further afield. They don’t mind a small amount of screen time but really try to keep this to a minimum.
They are both thriving so their parents are looking for a nanny to continue to encourage their development. For their oldest son, this means engaging in imaginative play, role play games, reading stories, learning new things and gently encouraging him to try new things that might feel slightly out of his comfort zone. They will also be potty training him in the near future.
For their youngest this means working on his standing and progressing to being able to walk, and continuing to learn lots of new words.
Both boys respond best to someone who is calm, gentle and kind. Someone who knows how to have fun and how to keep the boys engaged. As the boys are close together in age and are both still very young they are looking for someone who has the energy to keep up with them and has experience of looking after two young toddlers at the same time. Someone active, imaginative and enthusiastic who engages the boys in meaningful play/arts and crafts and outdoor activities wherever possible (limiting screen time). Proactive in coming up with ideas, is naturally organised keeping to the boys’ schedules and keeping on top of general tidying of their play room and after meal times in the kitchen. Someone who is keen to work with the family to ensure consistency for the boys and open communication is really important.
They have one dog, an Australian Shepherd who goes to daycare in the morning and will be upstairs in the office in the afternoon.
A driver is required with a clean licence. There is free parking at the family home.
Parents work both in the office and at home during the week.
