We are recruiting a permanent after school nanny on behalf of a lovely family in the Holyrood area of Edinburgh. They have a 9 year old daughter and a 7 year old son.
The start date is ASAP but 29th September 2025 at the very latest.
The ideal days and hours are: Mondays to Thursdays 3pm to 6pm and Fridays 12 noon to 6pm term time in line with City of Edinburgh school term. The family are also open to discussing fewer days with the right candidate.
Additional flexible hours can be offered in school holidays with mutual agreement and will be paid at the agreed hourly rate.
Hourly rate is up to from £18.50 per hour gross depending on experience.
During term time, care will only be for their very sweet, loving and affectionate daughter (son attends after school provision). She has down syndrome, is non verbal and needs her nanny for extra supervision on the walk home from school (two minute walk). She loves music, dancing, baking, jigsaw puzzles and pretend play. She has no medical issues and completes her self care tasks independently. However she needs some help with tasks that require her fine motor skills. She receives support from an occupational and speech therapist.
The family are looking for a reliable, energetic, patient and kind nanny who can share their own interests as well as helping her to try new recipes and foods.
A non-smoker and non-vaper is preferred.
A driver is not required and there is no free parking at the family home. However there are nearby streets with free parking.
Parents work from home some days.
No pets.
