Permanent Full Time Nanny, Edinburgh EH1 3

Job Reference: LCSJUL02

We are recruiting a permanent, full-time, professional nanny on behalf of a young family who live in central Edinburgh.

They have one baby who will be 4 – 5 months old at the start date therefore the nanny must be experienced working with young babies and have at least a paediatric first aid qualification.

Role: Live in or live out.

Start date: Ideally mid October 2025 (an earlier start is possible but not before 29th September and the latest start date being 10 November). Mum returns to work full time from January 2026 so the family would like an overlap before then.

Days of work: Mondays to Fridays from January 2026 but before then the days and hours worked are flexible e.g. 3 to 4 full or half days.

Times: 7.30am to 5.30pm

Salary: £15 to £18 per hour gross depending on experience and whether living in or out.

They would like their nanny to be open to doing occasional evening babysitting, overnights and weekends as well as helping for a week or two per year at their home in Moray. All travelling expenses will be paid.

With both parents leading demanding professional lives, they are looking for a highly reliable, experienced, and dedicated nanny to become a trusted part of their family. The right candidate will have a positive attitude, be responsible, trustworthy, kind, patient and hardworking. Someone who is knowledgeable about developmental stages and keen to plan appropriate age and stage activities. Must have strong communication skills and be receptive to giving and receiving constructive feedback.

The parents are very health conscious so would like a nanny who enjoys being outdoors and ensures that he gets lots of fresh air and healthy foods. Knowledge and experience of weaning is also important.

They have a well-trained, calm 7-year old dog, though the nanny is unlikely to overlap with him much. He is a Brittany (similar to a spaniel) and usually stays with grandparents but the family have him for weekends and when up north. For the occasional week when grandparents are on holiday and there is no other dog cover they have him at home in Edinburgh but arrange dogwalkers for him during the day.

A non smoker and non vaper is a requirement.

A driver with own car is preferred. A parking permit will be made available if needed.

This is a professional nanny role, with the family hoping that the candidate will be really excited about getting to know them and become part of their family long term.
