We are recruiting a permanent, full-time nanny on behalf of a young family who live in the Turnhouse area of Edinburgh, near the airport.
They have two children ages five and 18 months.
Role: Live out.
Start date: Negotiable but no later than 14th August 2025.
Days of work: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Times: 9am to 5pm (the family are flexible if the right candidate needs to start a bit earlier/later and finish earlier/later for example to avoid traffic).
Salary: £15 per hour gross.
Their oldest is a very inquisitive 5yr old who is super excited to start school in August. She loves books, drawing, singing and dancing. She is very patient, adores her little lister and is overall very sensitive and a little love bug. She recently learned to cycle her bike, which she would do all day long if she could. She has a nut allergy so no nuts or sesame seeds are consumed at home. The family have not had to use her Epipen but instructions and training will be given just in case.
Her younger sister is probably even more inquisitive. She is a little Duracell bunny, trying to keep up with her big sister, whom she wants to be with all the time. She is an outdoor girl so if she’s unhappy, her parents just take her outside for a quick run about and she is back to her cheery self.
Care will be mainly for their youngest child 9am to 3pm during term time and their oldest after school then both children during school holidays.
The parents are very open minded to what skills and qualities that they are looking for in a nanny but need someone who is happy to run after the girls as they have a lot of energy. They will keep a nanny on their toes but they are a delight. They follow and use gentle parenting techniques and are raising the girls based on the Montessori principles, so approaches such at timeouts are not welcome. An understanding of these approaches is an advantage.
Both girls are bilingual (English and Hungarian) so the ultimate win would be someone who speaks both, but any other language is also most welcome and encouraged. However a second language is not essential.
A non smoker and non vaper is a requirement.
A driver is required preferably with their own car however a car may be available. There is free parking at the family home.
The parents work at home most days.
