Permanent Full Time Nanny (term time only) Stockbridge Edinburgh EH4 1

Job Reference: LCSJUL04

We are recruiting a permanent, full time, professional nanny for a relaxed and friendly family at their home in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.

Start date: ideally around 3 November 2025 but can be flexible until early December for the right candidate.

Days of work: The role will start with 3 days a week (Monday to Wednesdays), quickly moving up to 4 days from January 2026 (Monday to Thursdays) plus two evenings a month to be agreed with the nanny.

Times: 9am to 5pm

Salary: £20 per hour gross.

Role: Term time only in line with the City of Edinburgh school dates. The family would however like their nanny to work one week extra during a school holiday week.

The successful candidate will take care of their daughter who was born in July 2025 and will therefore be just over 3 months old in November. Both parents work full time, with Mum returning to work on a staggered basis from November onwards (Mum works from home).

They are looking for a caring, engaging and experienced nanny who will create a special, long-term bond with their daughter, caring for her needs, supporting her in her development, and aligning with their parenting style. They value creativity, enthusiasm, organisation, and effective communication.

The successful candidate must have a good understanding and practical application of baby nutrition, weaning, healthy cooking and paediatric first aid.

Candidate requirements:

  • Prior experience caring for and sole charge of newborn babies.
  • Someone who is highly professional, attentive to their daughter’s needs and has in-depth knowledge and is passionate about children’s development.
  • Ability to create imaginative and stimulating activities for the baby to help her learn and develop.
  • Animal-friendly candidate as there is a dog in the home (3 year old family-friendly miniature Australian Labradoodle with an excellent temperament).
  • Someone looking for a long-term role who would be open to staying with the family as they grow.
  • A non-smoker and non-vaper.

Suggested responsibilities:

  • Providing sole charge care and engaging with the baby through activities, songs, and developmental play.
  • Taking the baby to classes, playdates, parks and clubs.
  • Bottle feeding, sterilising, weaning and eventually preparing and feeding healthy and nutritious meals.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised home environment for the family. They do have a cleaner, so the main focus will be on the baby.

In addition to the core responsibilities of a nanny, the parents would appreciate a candidate who is willing to contribute towards other household jobs when time allows, for example dog walking, laundry, and food preparation.

A driver is not required but a car is available if needed. There is unfortunately no free parking at the family home.
