We are recruiting a permanent nanny on behalf of a lovely family who live in the Leith area of Edinburgh.
They have one child who is nearly 9 years.
Start date is Thursday 21st August 2025.
Hours of work: Thursdays 9am to 12 noon, term time only in line with City of Edinburgh term dates.
The hourly rate £20 per hour gross.
The parents will be home schooling their son from August 2025 and would love a nanny to spend a few hours each week during school hours, going out and about around the city and surrounding area, for example to the National Museum of Scotland and Dalkeith Country Park. They are not looking for anyone to educate him, just to spend time with him for a few hours each week doing something that he will enjoy. All expenses and travel costs will be agreed in advance and reimbursed. He has Autism and benefits greatly from one-on-one.
The successful nanny will be gentle, calm, caring, fun and reliable. He loves to talk so someone who is a great listener and will show a genuine interest in what he has to say. He also has a lot of energy, so the nanny will need to be able to be fairly active to keep up with him. Knowledge and experience of working with children who have Autism would be useful for anyone working with him. His parents would love it if he could have a male nanny, but this is not essential.
A non-smoker and non vaper.
His parents will be working from home during this time.
A driver with their own car is preferred. There is free parking at the family home.
Their pets are a hamster and some fish.
