Permanent Nanny, Dunbar, East Lothian, EH42 1 –

Job Reference: LCSFEB01

We are recruiting a permanent, experienced, part-time nanny for a warm, family orientated family who live in Dunbar, East Lothian. Their daughter is nearly 12 months.

Start Date: Ideally mid-February 2026

Days: Two mornings each week (flexible) 9am to 1pm plus some ad hoc evening babysitting through mutual agreement.

Hourly rate: £15 – £20 per hour gross depending on experience.

Their daughter is happy, curious, active and sociable. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and engaging with different people. She likes sensory play, toys with different textures and sounds, board books, music, and being sung to. She loves being outdoors, going for walks, and watching what is happening around her.

She spent the first few months of her life overseas, which has exposed her to lots of new cultures, environments and types of people. Her parents value this greatly and hope to continue to give her these experiences to help her grow. What is most important to them is creating a loving, safe, and nurturing environment where she feels secure, supported, and encouraged to explore and learn at her own pace. Developmentally, she is crawling, pulling herself up and cruising along furniture. She is very communicative through babbling, gestures, and facial expressions, and she responds well to warm interaction, repetition, and a positive, reassuring presence. Her parents support her early learning through engaging play, talking, reading, singing, and following her cues. She thrives with a consistent routine around naps, feeding, and playtime and benefits from gentle, attentive care.

As a family, they enjoy spending time together at home, going for walks, visiting parks and playgrounds, meeting friends and family, and doing simple activities like reading, playing music, and sharing meals. They value consistency, reliability, trust, kindness, patience and respect with positive open communication and a collaborative approach. This will ensure a great working relationship to support her ongoing development.

The right candidate will be warm and professional, nurturing, patient, and have a genuine interest in working with babies. Someone who is experienced with infants, understands child development and child follows safe and responsive care practices. They expect that their nanny will use their initiative to provide engaging activities, games and learning opportunities. A second language would be amazing, but this is not a deal breaker. They will ensure that their nanny is supported to settle into their home and routines and want them to feel comfortable and respected.

They have a small, very friendly King Charles Spaniel.

A non-smoker and non-vaper.

A driver with their own car is preferred. There is free parking at the family home.

The parents will be working from home.
