We have a lovely welcoming family who live in Dalkeith, Midlothian who are looking for a maternity cover nanny for their four children who are 13, 10, 7 and nearly 2 years. This post will run for approximately nine months.
The hours are: Tuesdays 7am to 9pm and Wednesdays 3pm to 9pm (Total weekly hours are 20).
The hourly rate is £15 per hour gross.
Start date is 21st October 2025.
Their oldest three children are at school and their youngest is at home. Their home has plenty of space inside and out, with garden equipment for all children to play.
Generally the parents do the school runs but they may occasionally need the nanny’s help. Most of the nanny’s day will be spent with their youngest child which may consist of playing at home, Book Bugs, softplay, visits to the park, walks etc. Their older children often have clubs after school which are managed with a combination of the parents, neighbours, granny and sometimes the nanny.
They want a nanny who is child focused, supportive and encouraging. Someone with a positive vibe who enjoys playing and talking to the children and shows a genuine interest in their lives and activities. They must be patient, caring and loving towards the children, very organised, tidy and have creative play ideas with their youngest child to stimulate his learning. An appreciation of the importance of being outside with the children, reading to them and generally just creating a positive vibe and environment for them. The must be sensible and able to deal safely with unforeseen problems that may arise in a busy home with tired children. The parents priority is their children’s physical and emotional well being so all the attributes mentioned are super important. The right candidate must also be happy to take the children swimming.
A driver with their own car is required and there is free parking at the family home. Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile.
Parents occasionally work from home.
They have three cats and granny has a ‘big’ friendly dog who visits with her.
