We have a lovely family, living near Inverleith park in Edinburgh, who are looking for a temporary nanny for their son who will be 18 months in August 2025.
The hourly rate – £14 to £16 per hour gross depending on experience.
Days and Hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8am to 4pm (32 hours per week).
The contract will run from Monday 11th August to the end of February 2026. This may be extended with mutual agreement until August 2026 if their child’s nursery place is delayed.
Settling in days to take place from Monday 30th June to 24th July. This can be flexible and doesn’t need to be four days or full days. Again the family are happy to be flexible.
Their son is a very active and curious (currently) 16-month-old who loves to explore. He enjoys being on the move, walking and running about. He attends various classes, and he especially loves music and outdoor play. He thrives outdoors, joining mum and dad on daily dog walks and enjoying nature. He is eating solids but can be a picky eater, so they are working on exposing him to new foods which has varying degrees of success.
The successful nanny must be a kind and caring person who will take their time to be present with him. Someone who is happy to be active with him as he is a busy boy. The parents are looking for someone to be proactive, thinking ahead snack or nap time, different activities to do and nurturing his interests.
A non smoker and non vaper preferred.
A driver is not required and there is no free parking at the family home.
They have a Labrador who stays in the kitchen/extension area. However, he stays out of the way and all that would be asked of the nanny is that he goes outside at lunchtime and food put down for him. If playing outside he would love to be out there as their son loves to see him chase his ball.
On certain days the parents will use the home office. The home office is on the top floor of their home and out of the way of space that the nanny and their son will use.
